We’ve put together some commonly asked questions to give you more information about TAS.

What are the minimum operating system versions required to install the TAS app on my phone?

iOS 12+ and Android 7+

Can I use TAS app on my tablet?

TAS app currently only works on smartphones.

How much storage space does TAS app require?

No more than 150MB of the phone’s internal memory.

What languages are supported by TAS app?

English and Simplified Chinese. You can change the app language anytime through Settings in TAS app.

What if my phone language is not in English or Simplified Chinese?

TAS app will run in English by default.

How do I register for a TAS account?

Tap on the Register link at the lower right corner of the login screen and follow the instructions to register for an account.

I did not receive my verification email after registering.

Please check your spam/junk folder.

What if I forgot my password?

Tap on the Forgot Password link at the lower left corner of the login screen and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Why do I need to provide my email address or phone number to register for a TAS account?

Your email/number will be used to login to TAS app in case you change or lose your current phone.

What do the “Arrive” and “Leave” buttons do?

“Arrive” informs TAS app to stop sending IP Camera motion detection notifications to your device. “Leave” informs TAS app to resume sending IP Camera motion detection notifications to your device.

What is a sub user?

A sub user is another TAS account that you (as the main user) authorise to receive the same notifications as your account.

How do I add a sub user?

Home > Services tab > User Management > Tap on the + icon > enter the sub user’s email address (or phone number for China-registered users).

What can an authorised sub user do?

An authorised sub user can receive the main user’s notifications and rename devices.

How do I authorise a sub user?

After adding a sub user, tap on the toggle to authorise/de-authorise the sub user.

How many sub users can I add to TAS?

Currently 1. We are working on expanding this limit.

Why did my gateway fail to bind?

Most likely due to a temporary network connection problem. Please ensure your internet connection is working and try again. If you consistently encounter this error, please contact us through the “Contact Us” option within the TAS app Menu.

How do I rename my bound gateway?

Home > Gateway > 3 dots at upper right corner > Rename

How do I remove my bound gateway?

Home > Gateway > 3 dots at upper right corner > Remove

How many gateways can I have bound to my account?

2 maximum.

Why am I sometimes unable to see my gateway?

For user security, TAS checks the current connection when you reach the Home tab. You might also have left TAS app open for too long.

Why do I need to select a gateway before I can bind my door lock?

Some models of door locks require an external gateway for its Internet-based functionalities to work.

Why did my door lock fail to bind?

A few possible reasons. The door lock was too far away from the gateway. There was a temporary network connection problem. The gateway already has 3 door locks bound to it. If you consistently encounter this error, please contact us through the “Contact Us” option within the Menu.

How many door locks can I bind to a single gateway?

3 maximum.

Must the door locks all be near the gateway to bind successfully?

Yes. Try to keep them within 1 metre to ensure successful binding.

Why am I sometimes unable to see my door lock?

How many cameras can I bind to TAS app?

5 maximum.

Can I use my own IP camera?

We cannot guarantee compatibility with brands/models that we have not tested.

Can I bind my camera while I’m connected to a mobile network?

No. You can only bind the camera successfully while connected to a wifi network.

What happens if my camera loses internet connection?

You will receive a notification within a few minutes of losing internet connection that your camera is offline.

How will I know when my camera regains internet connection?

You will receive a notification within a few minutes of regaining Internet connection that your camera is online.

How many doorbells can I bind to TAS app?

4 maximum.

Can I use my own doorbell?

We cannot guarantee compatibility with brands/models that we have not tested.

How do I pair my doorbell with the chime?

Ensure the chime is plugged into the power socket. Press and hold the chime’s volume button for 3 seconds before releasing, you will hear the chime tone once. Next, press and hold the ring button of the doorbell until you hear the chime tone again.

How do I unpair my doorbell with the chime?

Press and hold the chime’s volume button until you hear the chime tone twice, then release. The unpairing process takes around 10 seconds.

Can I bind my doorbell to TAS while I’m connected to a mobile network?

No. You can only bind the doorbell successfully while connected to a 2.4 GHz wifi network.

Why is the doorbell only able to connect with a 2.4 GHz wifi network?

2.4GHz wifi networks are the industry standard for home users. This ensures compatibility with almost every home wifi network available.

What happens if my doorbell is low on battery?

We cannot guarantee compatibility with brands/models that we have not tested.

How will I know when my doorbell is fully charged?

You will receive a notification informing you that your doorbell is fully charged. You can also check on the percentage battery remaining by going into that particular doorbell’s Settings page.

How long does it take to fully charge my battery?

About 3-4 hours for an adaptor rated at 5V 2A.

How long will my battery last on a full charge?

Your battery can last 3-4 months, assuming you use it to view video for about 5 minutes per day.

What happens if my someone tries to tamper with my doorbell?

In the future, you will receive a notification informing you that someone has tried to tamper with your doorbell.

How do I unbind my doorbell from TAS app?

Home > Doorbell > Select the doorbell you intend to unbind > Remove device. After that it is done.

How do I reset my doorbell?

After unbinding from your TAS account (see steps for unbinding the doorbell), use a pin to poke into the hole at the top of the doorbell to open the rear cover. Use a pin to hold down the button in the hole labeled as “Reset” for 3 seconds. When you hear “The reset succeeded”, your doorbell has been successfully reset.

What happens if I reset my doorbell without unbinding it from TAS app first?

Your doorbell will still be visible in TAS app but you won’t be able to use it until you unbind and rebind the doorbell.
